Punishment

  • Punishment is usually harsh or mean.

  • Punishment is often done in frustration or anger.

  • Punishment may not change your child’s behavior.

  • Punishment may cause angry feelings in your children.

  • Punishment may hurt your child’s self-esteem.

  • Punishment may teach children that they are bad.

  • Punishment is often criticism, beating, blaming, or spanking.

  • Punishment focuses on what not to do, instead of what to do.
