If you are a victim of
abuse, protect yourself and your family. When you need help, don't
wait. Break the cycle of violence now. If you are in danger, silence
is your worst enemy.
The Family Center offers many programs and services to victims of
all types of abuse. These programs include Victim Services,
Children's Services, Hmong Services, Vulnerable Adult Services,
Transitional Services, Sexual Assault Services, and Supervised
Visitation Services. The Family Center also offers a Safe Pet
Program for people coming into shelter that own a pet(s) and need to
keep them safe.
Our victim service coordinator provides counseling, groups, and
legal assistance. Counseling is provided on an individual basis to
residents, walk-ins, and by appointment. Weekly support groups are
also provided to help victims, of any type of abuse, build their
self-esteem and enhance their coping skills. Legal advocacy
assistance is available for people in need of restraining orders,
during divorce or custody proceedings, and in criminal cases related
to domestic violence. Judicare assistance is also provided. For more

Domestic violence impacts the entire family. The Family Center
offers individual and group counseling to children. For children
ages 5-12 the topics discussed are:
- Anger Management
- Domestic Abuse/Sexual Assault
Individual and group counseling for teens ages 13-17 addresses
issues such as:
- Anger Management
- Referrals From Social Services and Parents
- Domestic Abuse
- Teens Who Have or are Experiencing Domestic Abuse at
Home
- Dating Violence/Healthy Relationship

Coordinator is available to meet with your child at his/her school.
Sexual assault can happen to any woman, child, or man. The Family
Center helps victims of sexual assault by offering information and
support. Services are offered to victims of sexual assault within
our community. Any victim of sexual assault may contact us for more
information by calling our
24-hour
crisis line.
