Honor or remember a special person in your life by giving a gift in his/her name.

 

 
 
Create a Legacy

You do not have to be wealthy to make a significant gift. Through planned giving, you can create a legacy to help future generations. 

 

As a 501(c)(3) organization, The Family Center is eligible to receive bequests. A bequest from a will or a trust distribution to The Family Center is fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes, regardless of the size of the bequest. Such a bequest would help you provide for the continuity of The Family Center’s work in the future. Contact us to find out more information at 715-421-1559.

In-Kind Donations

The Family Center accepts all donations that are in working/good condition. We also do not accept items that are not clean, not in working order, or that have missing parts.

 

We reserve the right to refuse any items not meeting our guidelines. Please feel free to call if you have a question or email communications@familyctr.org about something you would like to donate.

 

Your donations serve three purposes:

  • Provides needed items within the shelter and for clients 

  • helps defray operating costs, and

  • encourages community support for The Family Center and the people we serve

Please bring donations to The Family Center Donation Center, located at the south end of the building. Ring the bell, and a staff member will arrive to assist you. It is helpful if you call 715-421-1559 before coming so we can have someone assist you.

  

The Family Center Donation Center is open

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Closed Fridays at the current time. You can call 715-421-1559 for donations outside of these hours. 

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS IN FOYER AREAS.

General, ongoing needs:

Personal care items: Hair conditioner (full-size)

New/gently used household items: Small appliances, lamps, bath towels, sheets, blankets, batteries, new pillows.

Kitchen items: Dishes, kitchen towels, silverware, glassware, pots/pans, storage containers, zipper-close storage bags, paper napkins, paper plates. 

Cleaning items: Laundry soap, fabric softener, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, liquid hand soap (no bars, please), sanitizing wipes, all-purpose cleaner, sponges, garbage bags.

Gift cards: Restaurant, gas, pharmacy, food gift cards for clients in small denominations.

Follow The Family Center on Facebook for specific items of need.

Some items we do not generally accept are listed below. Please call if you have a question.

  • Used stuffed animals

  • Used clothing 

  • Electronics (televisions, computers, etc.) Working flat screens less than a year old will be accepted. Please call ahead (715-421-1559)

  • Car seats

  • Cribs, walkers, etc. due to safety requirements. Please call if you have questions.

  • Canned peas, beans, and corn. At this time, we have an overabundance of these specific items. Please check back or follow Facebook for specific needs.

  • Expired foods. 

  • Hotel-size soaps, shampoos, etc.

At this time, The Family Center will not accept any used clothing.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS OUTSIDE OR INSIDE FOYER AREAS.

Furniture notes: If you have large-size furniture items you would like to donate, please call The Family Center at 715-421-1559 with information about the items. This information will be shared with advocates who know what items are needed by clients, and The Family Center will connect back with you.
