Examples of some volunteer opportunities:

• Donations/Food Pantry: Receive, sort, and organize clothing, food,  and household donations.

• Maintenance: Assist with day-to-day facility cleaning and upkeep; and/or assist with special one-time projects which may include: painting, minor building or equipment repair, landscaping, etc. 

• Office assistance: Often on an as-needed basis. May include data entry, paperwork, file maintenance.

• Reception: Answer the phone, greet the general public, clients, and donors; accept donations; and general office duties.

• Weekly Cleaning: Clean and organize the office areas, bathrooms, shelter, visitation area. 

• Special events: Help at fundraisers and other special events.

• Support group assistance: Often on an as-needed basis. May include child care assistance, meeting/food prep,

• Event support: May be only a few times a year. Help with set-up/take down, on-site activities, pre-event preparation.

• Arts/crafts/skill building: Teach a craft or skill to clients (knitting/crocheting/scrapbooking, cooking, etc.) Could be one-time or ongoing.
